Your Family Weekend at Orchard Road!
Last Updated on 27 August 2007
This weekend, bring your family down to Wheelock’s place, Lido Cineplex Shaw House, and Takashimaya to spend a splendid day in Orchard!
But first, are you going to drive? We know, parking fees are a bother! But hey, do you know where is the cheapest open car park at Orchard? Check out this car park located beside Wheelocks place, direction heading to Orchard Boulevard Road – you can park there for a mere 50 cents per half an hour! Now get your car parked and lets get down to shopping!
For a start, fill up your tummies and get ready to shop! Head down to NYDC at Wheelocks for a meal – there is a kids special only on Sunday! For every adult main course ordered, you can get a kids’ meal for just $2! You should not miss such a great treat at NYDC!
After your meal, indulge yourself at Substance (#02-24) which offers you a range of fetish ladies and men soles that are comfortable and sinfully gorgeous. Complemented with equally unique bags, anyone will stop, look and go in. The End Season Sale storewide discount up to 70% will catch your attention and willingly enter the shop to purchase comfortable, fitting soles and more.
Next, head on down to the Borders bookstore! Borders is the largest bookshop in Singapore, and is a one-stop station selling Books, Music, and Movies. While you are at Borders, make sure you grab 3 books, because they are having a special promotion selling 3 books for the price of 2! Check out their movie collection too, because the popular movie High School Musical is out in stores now!
Your last stop in Wheelock Place is Marks & Spencer’s (basement 1 and basement 2). They are having a summer sale, where you can get the sweetest treats on plain tops going for less than S$20, and a collection of unique shoes from S$50 to S$70. Other tops and bottoms are in the price range of S$30 to S$60!
After you are done with Marks & Spencer’s, take the underpass to Lido Shaw house! Over on the other side of the road, stock up on your groceries and necessities at the Isetan supermarket! For this week, you can even go ahead and have a go at some foreign cuisines, because you will find that the Isetan supermarket has products imported from all over the world, including favorites like Japanese miso soup and Korean kimchi!
Catch a movie at Lido Shaw house with your family! This week’s recommendation is Ratatouille (rat.a.too.ee) – it is highly rated by the Straits Times Paper and it will definitely excite you with its animations and allow you to experience a hilarious adventure about a Rat who wants to be a chef!
After the movie, take a short walk to Takashimaya to join the crowd in shopping for baby accessories. The baby fair at Takashimaya Basement 1, would satisfy the needs of parents out there for your princess or prince kids! There is a wide range of goods covering your baby’s needs and wants from head to toe, from milk bottles, to toys and cradles. The baby fair is the only place where you could get everything you need for your baby! Prepare and pamper your little ones!
Little treats for your little ones as well? Let your day end with the donuts in Takashimaya at the donut house Pop Doh. The sweet and cute looking donuts will whet your appetite!
